1. Who we are
The Easy Peasy English app (the app) is developed and owned by Maksim Shalotenko, a private individual (the rights holder, “we” or “us”).
No company or other legal entity has been created for the app. The rights holder has no permanent place of business or permanent postal address. The contact channel is easy.peasy.msh@gmail.com. We reply within a reasonable time.
If the app is transferred to a legal entity in the future, the change will be announced on this page and in the app.
2. Acceptance of the terms
This document is a public offer to enter into an agreement on these terms. You accept it when you:
- select the “I accept the terms” checkbox during registration;
- confirm acceptance after your first Google or Apple sign-in; or
- continue using the app.
If you sign in with Google or Apple and do not confirm acceptance, the newly created account is deleted and sign-in is cancelled. We store the date, time and document version associated with your acceptance. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
3. Who may use the app
The app is available to people aged 13 or older. If the law where you live requires a higher age for independent consent, use the app only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
4. Licence
The app is a trainer for English vocabulary using cards and spaced repetition. We grant you a non-exclusive, revocable and non-transferable licence to use it on your devices for personal, non-commercial purposes. Ownership remains with the rights holder.
You may not:
- decompile, disassemble or attempt to obtain source code except where law expressly permits it;
- copy the app as a whole, its code, interface or visual design, or present it as your own product;
- interfere with the app, bypass technical restrictions or scrape its contents to build a competing service;
- resell access or transfer your account to another person.
5. App content: words, phrases and translations
5.1. The app contains ready-made decks of English words and expressions with Russian translations.
5.2. Individual words, common expressions and translations are general units of language. We do not claim exclusive rights in them. The material was assembled from open and publicly available sources over time; some was prepared with AI tools and some through original selection. We do not claim that this language material is unique or wholly created by us.
5.3. Our protected material includes the app's source code, design, interface, icons, illustrations and the Easy Peasy English name.
5.4. You may use individual cards, words, phrases and translations for personal and educational purposes. Section 4 restricts copying the app as a product, not ordinary use of individual language items.
5.5. Content claims. If you believe material infringes your rights, email easy.peasy.msh@gmail.com, identify the material and explain the basis of your rights. We will review a substantiated request and remove or change the material within a reasonable time.
5.6. Accuracy. Translations and wording may contain inaccuracies or typographical errors. The app is a learning tool, not an authoritative dictionary or a replacement for a teacher.
6. Account
An account is required to save progress and synchronise between devices. Registration is available with email and password or through Google on Android and Apple on iOS.
- You are responsible for your password and activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information. One account is intended for one user.
- If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password and contact us.
- We may temporarily restrict or block an account used in breach of these terms or in a way that threatens the service or other users. Where possible, we will provide notice and a reason.
- You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account or through the account deletion page.
Effect of deletion. Authentication data, progress, favourites, personal cards and local app data are deleted. Deletion cannot be undone. An anonymised correction described in clause 7.4 may remain in a ready-made deck.
7. Your content: personal cards and edits
7.1–7.3. You may create cards and edit ready-made cards for your account. Rights in content you create remain yours. You grant the rights holder a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, reproduce and transfer that content only as necessary to synchronise, back up and restore your data.
7.4. If you correct a ready-made card, for example a typo or translation error, we may use that correction in anonymised form to find and fix errors. It may be added to a shared deck and remain there after your account is deleted, without your name, email or account identifier.
7.5. Cards created from scratch remain private to your account and are not shown to other users or added to ready-made decks.
7.6–7.8. Your content must be lawful. Do not upload illegal material, threats, hate content, sexual material involving minors, protected third-party content without permission, malicious code or another person's personal data without consent. You are responsible for your content. We do not pre-screen it but may remove content or block an account after learning of a violation.
8. Data and privacy
Data processing and your controls are explained in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. The policy states the current set of analytics and advertising services. We do not sell your data.
9. Paid features and subscriptions
9.1. As of the effective date, all app features are free.
9.2–9.7. Some features may later be offered through monthly or annual subscriptions, possibly with a trial. Purchases, renewals, trials, changes, cancellations and refunds are handled by Google Play or the App Store under the relevant store rules. The rights holder does not take payment directly or receive your card details.
A subscription renews automatically until cancelled in the relevant store account settings, generally at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Price, period and trial terms are shown before purchase. Refund decisions are made by the store. Mandatory consumer withdrawal rights under local law remain unaffected.
10. Service operation
Learning works offline after sign-in; sign-in, synchronisation and data recovery require internet access. We aim for reliable operation but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update, suspend or discontinue the app or individual features, including ready-made decks, and will try to give advance notice of material changes.
The app depends on third-party services including Google Firebase, app stores and device text-to-speech. Their failures or changes are outside our control.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, error-free cards or a particular learning result. The app does not guarantee a language level, exam result or other outcome.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the rights holder is not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, loss of data or progress, or damage arising from use or inability to use the app. This does not exclude liability where exclusion is prohibited, including intentional misconduct or injury to life or health, and does not limit mandatory consumer rights. You are responsible for backing up material important to you; progress synchronises only when an account and connection are available.
12. Additional App Store terms
If you installed the app from the App Store, the agreement is between you and the rights holder, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. The licence applies to Apple devices you own or control under the Apple Media Services Usage Rules.
The rights holder, not Apple, is responsible for maintenance, support, warranties to the extent required by law, product claims and intellectual-property claims. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund any purchase price paid for the app; to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation.
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US embargo or designated as supporting terrorism and are not on a US prohibited-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it. Contact us at easy.peasy.msh@gmail.com.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when new features or subscriptions are introduced. The current version is always available on the governing Russian terms page with its effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email where appropriate.
Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the app and delete your account.
14. Applicable law and disputes
The rights holder is a private individual with no permanent place of business or permanent residence. We do not impose the law or courts of any particular country.
If you are a consumer, mandatory law in your country of permanent residence applies and you may bring proceedings where you live. Nothing in these terms removes that protection.
Before starting proceedings, email easy.peasy.msh@gmail.com and describe the issue. We will try to respond and resolve it within 30 days.
15. General
- Severability. If one provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or duties. The rights holder may transfer them to a successor, including a legal entity created by the rights holder, after notice on this page.
- Language. The original terms are in Russian. Translations are for convenience; the Russian text prevails.
- Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement relating to the app.
